Used to play this game for ages, both on my XP pc and on my 7 pc with no issues at all. Now I can't get it to run on my win 10 pc and VMs.
So far I tried:
DGVoodoo (It doesn't seem to change anything at all)
Running the game with / without DEP prevention
Adding d3drm.dll to the folder (it asks for it when I try to run it in a VM, but it doesn't seem to make any difference to the white screen issue)
Compatibility mode

What could be the problem? There has to be a crucial dll or something missing because it has to work on 7/XP out of the box with no issues. I tried running a reflexive arcade installer instead of just running engine.exe from a pre-installed folder I saved onto my flash drive but nothing changes.
The setup.exe for the game runs (it's an options menu for things like an FPS counter/bumpiness(?)/etc) without issues.
I managed to get a different error by accidentally running several instances of the game in a XP VM which got me an endless stream of violation errors, but the window was still white.
