Hello all.

I have some old P4's and up computers that Ive installed a version of XP on for my daughters. The games in question are the Barbie titles from the early 2000's (barbie horse adventures, barbie detective etc). The Windows is XP 32Bit service pack 3.

I keep getting a Macromedia projector has failed, or the screen goes black for a few seconds then back to desktop.

OS: Windows is XP 32Bit service pack 3 (Pirate Edition?).

Build 1: P4 3.2 Presshot, 1GB Ram, P5P800, FX5900.

Build 2: 3770, 4GB RAM, 780ti.

Build 3: 3770, 4GB RAM, HD7950.

Forum information seems to be sketchy on this, or I'm not searching for the correct terms, I am starting to suspect It may be the version of XP I'm using, but its the version Ive found to be easiest and most stable for running XP era normal games.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks

There's several Horse Adventure games, but maybe the 2003 release if the one you're trying play. PCGamingWiki says it has a 640x480 max rez with no way to change it. Maybe try setting your desktop to that before starting. Also lower color depths and try enabling compatibility mode.

Detective doesn't list anything, but it might have the same screen limitations. I remember some older Windows games having issues unless try were ran at 640x480 256 colors.
