Tell me how long you've been flying Spectrum Holobyte's "Falcon 3.0" without telling me how long you've been flying Spectrum Holobyte's "Falcon 3.0" 😁 P.S. This was installed in my old 80286 way back in the day, I just stumbled upon the old installation booklet 😊

I believe Falcon 3.0 falls into the "other key business applications" category. 😁

I first learned of Falcon 3.0 from a 286 owner who also told me how great the Cyrix FasMath was.

I never realized that Scorched Earth required a math coprocessor, cool! 😊

If I remember correctly Falcon 3.0 also didn't require a FPU. But it run much faster with it.

I used to run it on my 286-16 and later added an AMD FPU.

@rfnagel: it's an interesting 286 board. Did you replace the CPU with 20MHz one? As there is no 40MHz crystal installed it still runs at ~16MHz - I see a 33MHz crystal.

I also never saw an AMD 286-20.

Visit my AmiBay items for sale (updated: 2025-03-14). I also take requests 😉

Falcon 3.0 didn't require a math coprocessor, only if you wanted to use the High Fidelity flight model.

My 80286 was a 16mhz machine. One side note (going from memory here): The motherboard came with a driver floppy that allowed for Expanded memory, something UNHEARD OF on a 286. Of course, Falcon 3.0 could make use of the Expanded memory for music and better graphics.
