Hi,

I have a T41 that doesn't recognize a Windows ME Installation CD.
If tried all these bootable devices, none of them get the Windows installation process startet.

Anyone have an idea what could be the problem?

windows m.e doesnt selfboot, its like 95/98 you need a boot floppy/cd, you can use a 98 boot iso but its best to use one specifically for m.e, you can find iso's online to burn to cdr.

Thanks for the advice!
The last 2 days I've had multiple attempts trying to create a bootable USB drive.
Now I am considering of burning a bootable ME-ISO.

I wonder however why my original Windows-ME installation CD is not bootable?

It should be bootable if it's OEM. I don't think that the retail releases were bootable, at least with 98 and 98SE.
I could be wrong about ME though. I don't think that the "upgrade" discs were bootable either, just FYI.

Is it a full version of Windows ME, or an update? I had an "Update" CD back in the day that was not bootable.
