Hello ,

Recently i rebuild my xp machine and swapped audigy 2 with X-fi platinum. This card i bought new around year 2006 . Since then X-fi moved to every new system i build until i finally bought motherboard without pci slot few years back. But no matter what system it has been inserted it behave same thing . Randomly card dissapears from windows , It didnot showed in device manager . Restart doesnt helped aswel as turning off .Switching to another pci slot is only way it worked . In windows 10 also was another issue it might randomly make pitch sound and also stoped produce any sound but it was fixable just by switching to another sound mode. Anyway since this card is going to stay in windows XP system id like to get it fixed if it possible . Model of the card is SB0460.

Looks like it needs recapping.

I agree with Serpent Rider. I've two of these that do not work - one won't be detected at all, the other will be, and the driver will install, but then I get the message "This device cannot start (code 10)." Both are in my "When I get around to it" pile.

One of mine (the one that now gives the "Code 10") was received in a small lot of parts, and was initially not detected at all. Though it wasn't bulged like the one in the above photo, I had read a guide for these cards that indicated that capacitor is often an issue, so I replaced it. The fact that the card is now detected and will install the driver shows that it was a problem, but obviously not the only one, so my plan is to replace all of the rest.
