I've tried testing all combinations into the dgVoodoo Control Panel to get it working, but as soon as the game starts it crashes within a second to desktop with no error messages, no logs, there isn't anything. So it doesn't work, but I don't know why. Can anyone help here? There are older available versions of dgVoodoo working with this DX9 game?

Game info here: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Castlevania … Lords_of_Shadow

Thanks in advance,

While other games like NFS Porsche also crash (dx7 mode) I figured out dgVoodoo introduced that issue since v2.83. The last working version is 2.82.5. You should try this whether it also is the case with Castlevania. Otherwise try 2.79.3.
Nevertheless I hope Dege will fix this in future releases.

Yes I should try that version if it were available but it isn't. There is no way to download older versions to test. I only managed to find the very old 2.64 version and it also crashes the same. I'm wondering if anybody knows a workaround in the meanwhile. Because may be that Dege doesn't have this game to make the tests or any other issue. The game is DX9 in any case

Lords of the Shadow is a very recent game released in 2013 and DX9 is still supported by GPUs. There is no need to use DGV.

Well, it's needed if you want to use HDR retrofit provided by SpecialK because it doesn't work with old DX9 games, so these games needs to be wrapped into DX11, DX12 or Vulkan

I have the 2.82.5 version and could upload it somewhere if anybody needs it. But when 2.64 version also crashes the same, then 2.85.2 wouldn't change that.

Yes. Thanks a lo for your offer but I'm afraid that with that version it will happens the same. I hope that Dege could read this report and fixes it in a future release of dgVoodoo. It's a real pitty that dgVoodoo also doesn't have any option to output a log because now, all I know is that this games only crashes as soon as it's started with dgVoodoo wrapper enabled. There is no any clue to point into the issue that is causing the crash. I've tried my best playing with different options into the dgVoodoo panel but always the result is the same.

It works flawlessly however with Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2. That's the weird thing. I believe that it's the same engine and both games are DX9 but only CLOS 2 works with no issues and CLOS crashes.

I'll go to test it ASAP. I'm impatient now, waiting for the new release. I'll keep an eye into the dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2 website. Thanks a lot!!!

Did you have to do anything special to get it working with LOS2? I'm getting a "Could not find any compatible Direct3D devices" error and I've tried all kinds of config tweaks.
