Hey everybody,

I have a quite large snapshot of the Vobis BBS. Vobis was a large German PC manufacturer in the 90s, and me being interested in running old hardware and software, took a snapshot of it in 2004. Unfortunately I crawled the site not completely, but it's around 6 Gbyte of drivers, software, patches for DOS, W3.x, Windows 9x, NT4, OS/2, and I am quite certain nobody else has done that, so i'd like to share it.

Here's a list of the main topics:
• Adaptec
• Asus
• Avance Logic
• Aztech
• c't (Heise Verlag)
• Caere
• Cirrus Logic
• City-Shop Golßen
• CTO Software
• DIAMOND MULTIMEDIA/SPEA
• EPSON Deutschland
• Freecom
• Elsa
• Gandke & Schubert Software
• Hercules
• Highscreen Highlights (DMV Verlag)
• MagicByte Software
• Matrox
• MAXTOR
• MICRONICS Computers, Inc.
• Microtek
• Miro
• Mitsumi
• Mustek
• NEC
• Number Nine Visual Technology
• OPTi
• PC Online (Vogel Verlag)
• Quantum
• Reveal
• S3, Inc.
• Seagate
• SIERRA - Patches und Problemhilfe
• SIERRA - Demos
• SIERRA - Screenshots, Spiele, Edutainment
• StarDivision
• STB Systems
• tbbX - Vobis Mailbox Offline Software
• TerraTec - Treiber, Demos, Utilities
• TerraTec - Informationen
• Toshiba
• TRUST Computer Products
• TulliSoft
• Western Digital

Each sub page contains drivers, or other sub pages with explanations and so on. This is NOT on archive.org, and I believe nobody else has done such a snapshot. It's really A LOT, and I could upload it to someone who has the time to go over it and maybe add it to the Vogons driver and software collection. I, for myself, don't have that time, unfortunately, but I see that this is something that doesn't exist at this point on the internet any longer, and I don't want it to rot on my hard drive just for me.

If someone has suggestions on how to hand it to someone of Vogons, let me know.

Why not just upload it to archive.org? You don't have to sort or categorize it. Just click upload files, write a name, a short description, a tag (say "Software"), choose "Community software" for the collection, and press upload.

I finally uploaded it. Took about a full day (!) despite a fibre line... Archive.org is slow. Anyway, for anybody interested in a quite extensive driver and software collection, here you are:

Nice collection.
I partially have a backup of the BBS myself, but not this much.

Reminds me to upload my Computer 2000 driver library CDs, which is newer than the one already on archive.org.

I hope it helps... I think it's a good foundation for a driver library.

I checked last night:
https://archive.org/details/toolbox_2000
is a later revision than what I own.
This one (8CD in total) is a good start for a driver collection as well.
It may have some dublicates to the vobis files, but there are most probably unique files in both archives.
