Alright well the only thing I'm trying to get out of playing mechwarrior 2 mercenaries is that there is a cutscene where if you fail the final missions you get to see video of the Clan mechs breaking through the canyon. It's not available anywhere online so I was hoping to capture it and put it online for people to view. I told my brother the cutscene did exist and unfortunately he passed away before I could finish (I alluded to this earlier in the thread). And thanks to this error that I have no freaking clue how to solve (and I can't just go around uninstalling everything) I don't have the means to get back. I was really close to final missions so if anyone needs saves I can get you there.

There are things that will play them.

If you're getting that error consistently in the same mission, that individual mission file might be corrupt on your copy.
I had a consistent error like that the first time I played, but a different copy worked.

No I cannot even start the game. It was working about 2 months ago.

As for the ending I recall. It's the same as the regular one but the vulture doesn't get ripped in half and instead just moves straight through and blows up the Atlas which is by itself. I'm not sure its limited to specific copy of the game or maybe I dreamt it up. I can't find it in the smk of the titanium trilogy edition so IDK if its even real at this point.

I'm not sure if I follow all the posts correctly, is it possible to play the original 3Dfx version with dgVodoo2?
I can get the game to run but from what it looks like it only runs in the normal software mode through dxwind/dgvoodoo2 hooks?

The HUD is 640. All attempts to change that ended in glitches so I didn't bother trying.

The rest is whatever you set it to. Look close and you'll see its not 640

No I guess my 10 year old self wasn't paying too much attention. The same cutscene plays if you win or lose the final missions. I just pulled out the old action hall of fame version of the game I have and its got the same setup of SMK files.

If you really want to test it, try a windows 10 install updated to no later than ~nov 2023.

I played through titanium to the end back then. I can't think what else has changed but maybe the environment it's in.

Currently we are testing an issue reported by PerryRhoadan, that affects the timeSetEvent timers. We set a virtual timer based on the exceptions created, but it's speed can be a hit or a miss, so we are trying to get the real timer working.

About the memory problem, I think it should come after this issue. There are a ton of other issues plaguing the game, regarding CD check as well as the videos.
