Hello. I have this 386 computer with AUSTIN COMPUTER SYSTEMS PREDATOR motherboard and AMD 40mhz cpu.
It's got headers to set CPU clocks as you can see in the picture.
I can set the clock from 20 to 40, making it equivalent to switching from a fast 286 to a fast 386, which makes the system very versatile.
But changing jumpers requires opening the case, and it's just too much hassle, so I came up with a simple solution.
I just ran some wires directly to the headers, allowing me to move the jumpers around to set the speed I want.
It works fine, but it looks rather ugly.
So my question is: Is there a way to convert those headers into something neater and easier to manipulate, like DIP switches or even push buttons?
Ideally, I want four buttons, each representing a clock speed of 20, 25, 33, or 40. With a single press, I can change the clock speed and then start the computer.
Or a set of DIP switches could work?
Please share your ideas. Thank you.
