@megatron-uk, i actually upgraded HT6542 to Amikey-2 on my M-321 board, because the HT variant caused MR-BIOS to complain about keyboard error. (Though, everything worked, it was just inconvenient to see that error on every boot)

"640K ought to be enough for anybody." - And i intend to get every last bit out of it even after loading every damn driver!

I'll get the DIP sockets replaced and then fit those new caps and see if we get a fully set of lights on the POST card.

Sorry for the bump but do you remember which caps you used? Want to replace mine too (same board, same crappy capacitors). Found these two as a good match on Mouser:

  • Panasonic EEA-FC1E100H (Low Impedance)
  • Panasonic EEA-GA1E100H (General Purpose)

But don't know if Low Impedance is needed/wanted. Still need to de-solder one to measure it but that will have to wait till the weekend unfortunately.

Sorry, I have looked at my parts list used for the board and didn't record what the replacements were.

I ended up putting the board back into storage as I couldn't solve the cache size issue. There ended up being some tiny scratches across several traces from the cache sockets (on the back of the board) which were too small for me to see/repair properly; I tried a couple of patch wires but they just didn't seem reliable - my eyesight is nowhere near as good as it used to be.

Ideally I'd get one of those microscope stations to help me repair stuff like this, but it was a case of too many projects and not enough time.
