IF it doesn't work, there is one odd difference between the 2 960 variants.
For whatever reason the 960 versions take different paths in this inf.
I chose one at random. If it doesn't work, worth trying the other.

---------- NVHDCI.INF
%NVIDIA_DEV.1401.2B4D.103C% = Section015,
%NVIDIA_DEV.1401.2B57.103C% = Section006,

I have no idea what it does. As with a lot of computing, "spot the difference" can often point you in if not the right direction, at least a different one.

I have XP x64 install with NVIDIA driver version 355.98, PhysX works on a GeForce GTX 750 Ti without having to do anything. Big performance difference between CPU and Auto.

Still, when it comes to Mafia II, one can rename edit\APEX\Cloth folder to something else to disable effects on characters' clothing, these are major performance hogs.

Thank you for your time to put this together myne but unfortunately It still not working, i replaced the inf files you send me, later I even add the other line in the NVHDCI inf file but still no physyx showing in control panel and no physyx available in gpuz app, maybe it could not be working because Im am using 32 bit version of windows xp?

Or maybe should I do a cleaning of the drivers, somebody here recommend using the DDU app but I cant find any version that works for my system at all.

Maybe my issue could be related because Im using a 32 bit Windows xp operating system.

Nah, I'm using WinXP 32-bit too, as are most other retro PC gamers on this forum. PhysX works just fine under that OS.

In fact, I'm currently playing through Mirror's Edge under WinXP 32-bit with PhysX enabled, and it runs great on my GTX 970.

Yup, the PhysX box is checked.

This screenshot is from when I was using the 344.11 driver, but it's the same with 355.98.

So it still didn't work?
Try the other option I highlighted.

Ie change from 015 to 006

Thank you, I will do the last try for what myne told me to do, I also will try to install these version of PhysX driver but I need to do a clean up because it does not let me install any old versions of physx because i have the "newest version".

Thanks again

Here are the pre-made .inf files for the 368.81 driver set.

Just download 368.81 from Nvidia, extract, and replace the files with the ones in the attached .zip.

This file was sourced from here:

Thank you cyclone

Thank you all for your help, unfortunately my issue continues there, I removed the driver completely from the system to assure a clean install, I did what myne told me still not working, I replaced the files you send me but still Physx not working, well I guess I will have to live without it but I did find something curious, the id of the GPU that I manage to look thru the driver details I found that it have a REV_A1 at the end of the identifier, not sure what that means but I dont think that could be device id, like it has two differents.

Anyway I just give up with this, thank you all for your help again.

If you're targeting PhysX games from the late 2000s and early 2010s, you could play them under Windows 7 as well. Maybe stick with older Nvidia drivers from 2016 or so, just in case, but at least your card will be officially supported.

After playing Mirror's Edge under WinXP, I tried it under Win7 as well, and PhysX did work properly. I also installed Batman: Arkham Asylum, and that worked fine too.

Yep, I was even planning to play those 2010 to 2016 era games in my windows 11 pc build, dont get me wrong I really love my Windows XP performance I have currently It just weird that in my specific case I cant be able to make physyxs to work, again it is not a must have for me, it was more likely a "extra" feature but I can live without it.

I was even able to play Batman Arhamb Asylum in my gaming laptop with win 11 and performances is really good with all physysx into the highest.
