How boring is play without the fantastic "music" of the oldest games. ..

Firstly, thanks to help me with Monkey Island (1). I couldn't play because the computer says: "No Cd-rom, MSCDEX, BLA, BLA, BLA".

Now, I can play. Perfect. But I don't hear anything, no sounds, no music...

Can you hep me?

Thanks and peace!!!

Well, can you play regular audio CD's in Windows? *NOT* using the "digital audio" option in Control Panel (that only works with Media Player, and will not work with DOS games and/or most other CD player programs). Maybe your CD volume is muted or you don't have an analogue cable connecting your CD unit to the soundcard/mobo (plug earphones inside the CD itself, see if you can hear anything -- assuming that there is CD activity in the first place).

Vlad, that is untrue. Digital CD mode will work in all programs. It is transparent, it just runs through EIDE instead of a 3-pin analogue cable or a 2-pin digital cable. In any case, you will need SAPUCDEX. And I don't know if that will fix it. It might it might not. What I DO know is that MSCDEXNT will NOT play audio.

Yes, it’s my fault.

I recall having had a thread on this topic, do a search Snover. Programs that use IOCTL/ASPI directly (e.g. MSCDEX, Nero) instead of the higher-level MCI API (Media Player) do *not* use the "Digital playback" option in Control Panel.
