https://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fil … 4&menustate=0,0

I always head that it could do PIO4 but couldn't find the drivers. Where did you find this one?

The QD6580 driver version is Ver.3.7. The driver adds enhanced IDE mode 4
support.
There are four drivers in the QD6580 diskette:
1.QD6580.SYS DOS enhanced driver
2.QDICTRL.386 WINDOWS 3.1 or 3.11 enhanced driver
3.QDI1S506.ADD OS/2 2.1 enhanced driver
4.ATDISK.SYS WINDOWS NT enhanced driver

I got it from https://www.idealine.info/

Sorry, but version 3.6 readme says:
The QD6580 driver version is Ver.3.6. This version driver adds enhanced IDE mode 4 support.
I didn't notice any performance improvement compared to version 3.6. It is still about 10MB/s with a real harddisk on a system with low memory latency.

There are a lot of old video drivers here that I need to sort through for AST Research:

Great idea !

I tried to think if I could do any better than the lo-fi version of the website, for accessibility from old computers: http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/lofi/

I think I found it, too!

I've launched a telnet BBS at ezycom.retroswim.net:2323

Now, with just a Wifi232 style dongle, and any serial terminal software with X/Y/Zmodem support, you can get the files you need on your retro computer! No flash drives, no floppy disk shuffle, and no additional ISA cards needed.

Obviously it's still WAY faster to download from the website, then transfer to the old computer using one of those methods, but sometimes your hands are tied for whatever practical or preferential limitation. Now there's another option!

As an anti-spam, anti-abuse control, I am currently hand-verifying user accounts on the BBS, but you can still log in and browse the system at your leisure. Drop a note to the sysop at sign-up or at the logout screen, and I'll push the button to enable downloads.

Uploads are suspended for a few days while I perform some maintenance and upgrades. Will update when normal service resumes.

Downloads available as normal.

New host! Faster! More space! Less $$! Winner winner, chicken dinner! 😁

Not to mention we upgraded from Ubuntu 18.04 LTS to Debian 12.

Kernel 3.10 to 6.1.0. PHP 7.2 to 8.2. You get the drift. 😁

Everything should be a bit faster now too. If anything acts up, please let me know.

I'm aware that the BBCode parser stopped working, I'm looking for a replacement. Most noticeable thing is that line breaks and code/monospace sections are hidden, and you might see BBCode markup in the descriptions.

Edit: BBCode is restored. Box drawing characters in descriptions are appearing incorrectly, some character encoding issue when I migrated the database I think, but we're 99% back to normal baby!

Edit2: Character encoding problems have been addressed. Happy drivers-ing! <3

So far no issues found. Thanks ! If I had time would try your BBS, am not fully retired yet (but soon should be down to regular hours) so have little time to experiment right now.

Thanks, Horun, much appreciated 😀

I've identified an issue on the BBS where trying to tag individual files >65535KB crashes your session.

I'm going to split large files into ~32MB volumes on the BBS, since I imagine the use case for the larger files is pretty limited on systems where BBS access is your /only/ option, and large downloads in volumes are kinda period correct anyway 🤣!

Only see one minor issue, is in the descriptions. If one tries to do a "list" type entry it ends up like a paragraph (not excepting a regular end of line return/enter ?).
It looks fine/readable as long as a period and space are there where the return would be.
added so this:
P2B-S Beta BIOS 1014.003.
Version 1014.003.
Beta Version.
196.11 KB.
2002/08/05.

The latest Beta BIOS.

shows as: P2B-S Beta BIOS 1014.003. Version 1014.003. Beta Version. 196.11 KB. 2002/08/05. The latest Beta BIOS.
If I use the List /List command it works just fine.
I thought the older version allowed a regular end of line Return/Enter ? Or am getting old and forgetful 😁

Hmm interesting! I did switch to a new BBCode parser so entirely possible it behaves differently to the old one.

Could you do me a huge favour and fling me some links to some good and bad looking descriptions?

Sure ! Here is one I recently edited that makes it like a paragraph, but if you click edit you will see how I did the text: https://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=1180
Here is another one I recently edited using the List - /List stuff: https://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=1183
Here is one from 2021 I uploaded, if you click edit you will see how it used to look: https://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=1786

Fantastic thank you!

The new BBCode parser is quite easy to modify and customise, so fingers crossed this will be a quick fix.

OK, line breaks in the editor weren't being converted to HTML <br>'s, I fixed that.

The "list" tags are for creating a bullet list like...

[list]
[*]one
[*]two
[*]three
[/list]

makes

  • one
  • two
  • three

Also makes numbered lists with [list=1] or "lettered" lists with [list=a]

I made Nvidia Window NT driver collection, similar to ATI collection for Win9x in pasts it took me quite time to find it, old links are now dead, even with Wayback machine.

Its far from every existing drivers, but there are all major drivers + Elsa drivers as bonus, one has to ICD definition reg keys, they could be important for some compatibility enhancement research, they actually origin from some pro 3D modelling card. We discovered yesterday that last driver even has Opengl 2.0 support at least in release notes:

The attachment NvidiaNT-DriversList.png is no longer available
