Can you guys help identify this mysterious ISA card ?

It has a connect that looks like a printer port but this massive amount of chips, including an AMD 80186 ???? is a bit overkill for just a printer port no ?

I got is on a box of random hardware I bought at a local marketplace

thank you

I'm going to guess either an old network card or an earlier version of a credit card payment system like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/156510502353

I built:
Convert old ASUS ASC boardviews to KICAD PCB!
Re: A comprehensive guide to install and play MechWarrior 2 on new versions on Windows.
Dos+Windows 3.11+tcp+vbe_svga auto-install iso template
Script to backup Win9x\ME drivers from a working install
Re: The thing no one asked for: KICAD 440bx reference schematic

Wow, I didn't know there were BX variants of the Slot1/s370 combo boards. That's really cool, since BX is the shizzle when it comes to P!!! era ...

Yeah, I didnt know either, but I had also never looked haha.

It'll be a nice testbench for Pentium!!! related stuff, as you say.

Well, I have seen some of those boards with the chipset marked "BXCel" or something like that - I'm pretty sure they are anything besides Intel chipsets, and I wasn't aware they were made with an actual BX. I may want to add an eBay search 😀

Only the unicorn ABiT SH6 would be cooler to own, as that is an i815 slot-1, thereby running 133MHz natively. (but maybe it won't run PII and Mendocinos)

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

IIRC the BXcel boards were ALi Aladdin Pro II, which in my experience were actually solid performers. Not the speediest, but the M726MRT I had was a delight to work with, and never gave me issues.

Solid performer or not - it ain't an Intel chipset 😉 back in the day, I became an Intel fanboy mostly because of the mighty chipset and their high stability and compatibility ...

I usually swore by chipsets known to be the best too, but honestly knowing AOpen's reputation (and thanks to the TRW Discord letting me know there's a fix regarding memory for VIA 693 and such) I figured eh, why not explore the others out there. ALi surprised me the most, and even more so on a PCChips/Elpida of all things - it's not everyday that you find ALi stuff outside Socket 7 mostly. And given ALi's great reputation during the SS7 era, their Aladdin Pro2 chipset has been a good performer IMO, even if not quite the fastest out there, but in some aspects it's been a bit better than VIA's offerings of that time.

Hmmm, I have a VC820 and an OR840 and they both boot PentiumII and Celerons (Celerons even run at 100 MHz FSB from the get to, because the chipsets dont support anything lower)

I'd expect a board based on i815 would also be able to boot them without issue.

Didn't know the OR840 supports 100FSB. I thought it only takes 133.
(not that mine was functional to begin with, but good to know in the future.)

Last sunday i picked this lot up. Had to drive an hour because the person wouldn't ship the cards but i believe it was worth it. Although at this point i'm just buying stuff because i can get it cheaper than current market price but then when i get i don't want to sell it...

Prices were not what you would expect by the way ...

Diamond Virge GX2 €2
Voodoo banshee €10
Voodoo 3 1000 €10
3D Prophet 4500 €20
Geforce TI4200 €30 (should have been a Radeon 9800XXL but he said during testing it crapped out .. i just think he got a nice bid on it)
And a AMD k6-2 500cpu (i mistakenly thought this was the fastest k2 and bought it for €10 ... should have googled it but it was offered while i was there so couldn't do research)

The attachment voodoo3.jpg is no longer available

The attachment 3dprophet4500.jpg is no longer available
The attachment k6-2-500.JPG is no longer available

The cooler on the TI is in a real sorry state ... chrome flaking off and very dirty. Overpaid on this one but got the voodoo's kinda cheap.

Sniped a Quadro4 750XGL for $50. Seemed like a good price, given the current market for GeForce 4 Ti series cards. I was surprised that there were no other competing bids at the close of the auction, other than the initial bid from a few days ago.

One day, I woke up feeling like building a fast-ish VLB 486...

So, I got an alright deal on eBay for that wonderful FIC 486-PVT with a DX2 66mhz, 128kb of cache, 4mb of RAM and an AT power supply.

I already remove the OG Rayovac battery pack and made a connector for a 3xAA battery pack and fixed what seems like a PS/2 mouse header (although manual on theretroweb.com doesn't mention it).
I found out it would only take those darn FPM simms... So I quickly order a 16mb FPM simm; which is kinda difficult since sellers rarely mention if they are EDO or FPM.

Coming up next: two untested cards I ordered for this build... Cirrus Logic CL-GD5424 VGA card and a DTK PTI-255W i/o card. Fingers crossed!!

seems like a solid DOS sound card with 401 Midi and gameport.

*seems like the OPL3 might not be true OPL3 but some clone ...

An AGP Geforce 7800 GS.

Not a "true" AGP card, but unlike ATI, Nvidia had the decency to add cooling to the bridge chip.

Today I got those:
-AVerMedia AVer TV GO 007 TV Tuner PCI (Philips SAA7130HL chipset) (it works maybe but the FM connetor missing, so I can put another one using an F-type female plug to RCA male plug and I have FM again (my WinFast Tv2000XP Deluxe was in similar situation before, missing FM connector and put a replacement F-type female plug to RCA male plug and FM works)
-Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 40GB IDE ATA/100 HDD 7200RPM 2MB Cache (type is ST340014A) + 80 conductor IDE cable
-Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80GB IDE ATA/133 HDD 7200RPM 8MB Cache (type is 6Y080P0) + 80 conductor IDE cable (HDD manufactured 17 August 2004)
-Maxtor DiamondMax 10 160GB IDE ATA/133 HDD 7200RPM 8MB Cache (type is 6L160P0) (HDD manufactured 23 December 2005)

Any opinions about what I got today?

Received this last week - not yet tested, but that's the biggest heatsink I've seen on a graphics card that wasn't on the main chip or RAM...

Dammit, I'm on a spending spree for Slot1 gear (again).

Bought this earlier today for asking price: a Soyo D6IBA. Comes with an unknown CPU, and based on the pics it'll need recapping for sure.

The attachment s-l1600.webp is no longer available

It's the 2nd Slot1 mobo I buy in a month's time frame... I already have enough to setup an oldschool cybercafe, and yet I keep buying more 🙁

Anyways, a user in this forum got dual 1.1 GHz CuMines to boot up, so I figured I'd use it with a pair of SL4BR CPUs. My OR840 with dual SL4BS needs company.

Holy cow! You aren't kidding... 🤣

Reminds me of the rather absurd Sound Blaster PCI 5507:
https://theretroweb.com/expansioncards/s/crea … er-pci-128-5507

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.
