I have links here for ATi Rage2/2+ OpenGL drivers and earliler Mach64/Rage1 and Rage Pro non OpenGL drivers for NT 3.51 and we have many NT4.0 OpenGL drivers available for ATi second/third generation Rage cards, but not for Rage2c/Rage3 NT3.51 so directly. Maybe ATi Rage2+DVD also works with Rage2/Rage2+ drivers.

ATi early OpenGL dll-s where only mcd-s (minigl-s), not pure icd-s and all Rage3 cards did get full icd-s later. For Rage2/2+ cards NT 3.51 and NT4.0 OS was the only option for OpenGL i think, how well they work is another question, at least Rage3 is more capable. Does the NT4 minigl (atimcd.dll and atimcdr3.dll) work with NT3.51?

Rage2/Rage2c/RagePro drivers come together in early driver releases sometimes, i would love to see Rage Pro also with OpenGL stuff @ NT3.51, but seems that Rage3 cards where oriented more NT4.0 and up, many available NT 4.0 mcd and icd OpenGL exist for Rage3 cards and thats good.

NT3.51 Rage II/II+, Rage I, mach64 VT, mach64 CT and mach64 GX drivers, without OpenGL.
https://web.archive.org/web/20000829090516/ht … rs/nt351176.exe

Here is package for ATi RageII/II+ OpenGL drivers for NT3.51 and NT4.0:
https://www.upload.ee/files/15435715/winnt-ra … rivers.zip.html

Proof that ATi Rage Pro NT3.51 OpenGL driver or NT3.51 OpenGL .dll files exsisted is here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20001018021719/ht … rs/nt404392.txt
nt404392.txt readme has available OpenGL driver support info for theses cards and systems:
3D RAGE PRO: Windows NT 4.0 (ON WEB and ON CD) , Windows NT 3.51 (ON WEB, N/A ON CD)
3D RAG E II/II+: Windows NT 4.0 (ON WEB, N/A ON CD), Windows NT 3.51 (ON WEB, N/A ON CD)

NT3.51 Rage Pro drivers without OpenGL, they are available here:
http://vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=1560

if the NT3.51 package has atiogl.dll and igxogl.dll files, then they are OpenGL drivers.
NT4.0 early OpenGL drivers files called atimcd.dll and atimcdr3.dll, one or both files.
atimcd.dll (probably for Rage2) and atimcdr3.dll (probably only for Rage3 cards then).

Windows NT 3.51 Display Drivers Not Supported for RADEON, Rage 128 PRO, Rage 128, Rage Mobility, Rage XL,Rage XC:
The driver/software you have selected is NOT SUPPORTED.This means that ATI does NOT produce drivers or software for the particular combination of chipset and operating environment which you selected. In most cases, you can use a generic "VGA" or "VESA SVGA" driver that is provided with your operating system or operating environment.

Windows NT 3.51 Display Drivers info for Rage LT PRO,Rage PRO, Rage IIc:
NT 3.51 does not contain support for AGP display adapters. Use the VGA driver for AGP versions of these products. For PCI cards based on these chips, check your ATI Installation CD for an NT 3.51 driver (look for a \nt351 directory). If cannot locate the drivers on your ATI Installation CD, please contact ATI Technical Support for assistance.

This is then similar to Windows95A - that had no AGP support and Windows95B that had AGP support. So the NT3.51 drivers work only with PCI cards and NT4.0 works with both (AGP and PCI for NT4.0 SP3 or newer)? Does anybody use Rage Pro AGP with NT3.51 (without/with OpenGL)?

Seems there is update for AGP cards and Windows NT3.51, does the SP5 help/AGP patched HAL(i see some agp info here)?

Did ATi use ati3dcif for OpenGL 1.0 with NT3.51 OS?
Intresting that Rage2/2+ NT3.51 driver opgl351.exe has atiogl.dll (that is old ati3dcif.dll 4.03.2150 file). We should test this driver out with RageII+DVD or PCI versions Rage2C or Rage PRO first and upgrade atiogl.dll (ati3dcif.dll at least to 4.10.2661 - that supports Rage2c and Rage Pro cards). For Rage2/2+ it should just work as it is or it can be also upgraded later, if upgraded atiogl.dll cif works. Also we can add Rage Pro NT3.51 drivers with these Rage2 OpenGL file with updated 3dcif.dll (atiogl.dll), but does these Win9x cif files even work for NT?

3dcif files:
https://gona.mactar.hu/ATI3DCIF/drivers/all_ATI3DCIF_DLL.zip
https://gona.mactar.hu/ATI3DCIF/

This should be NT3.51 Rage2C drivers, cant unpack these japan drivers so easly to see inside:
https://ftp.zx.net.nz/pub/archive/ftp.compaq. … 000/sp13626.txt
https://ftp.zx.net.nz/pub/archive/ftp.compaq. … 000/sp13626.exe
With Japan OS or some unpack trick should help to extract these files, message it gives:
Cannot be run in US mode or some similar text in dos and windows98.

I can share all my NT 4.0 OpenGL drivers files also somewhere (mostly they are for Rage3), but i am looking ATi Rage2c/Rage Pro OpenGL NT3.51 drivers or dll files here. Somebody has time and is intrested testing early NT3.51 drivers out for Rage2/Rage3 with OpenGL support? Can someone unpack these Japan drivers, maybe even they have OpenGL dlls? If someone has more ATi Rage2/Rage2+/Rage2c/Rage Pro (Rage3) NT3.51 drivers to share, please share them here, Thank you!

I would love to try those drivers! Sadly the link is dead and I can't find any other source for this "winnt-rage2-opengldrivers.zip" file.

So the NT3.51 drivers work only with PCI cards

This is incorrect, they work with AGP, but AGP is Disabled.

Ok, I've found the ATi RageII/II+ OpenGL drivers on this old driver CD on Archive.org:
https://archive.org/details/Sezamfile_98-2

I get 5,2 FPS in Quake III with the OpenGL MCD implementation (CPU only would be 2,4 FPS):
https://youtu.be/xCWG-A7SYEg

In comparison with the Techland TCD3D wrapper under Win98SE, where I get 7 FPS:

If i get this Rage2 driver working without Macxdd32 downgrade then should start Rage2-DV D work
with ATiDVD,this is latest 3DCIF/Direct3D driver made for Rage2 and Rage3 D3D/3DCIF/OpenGL/DVD
What 4.11 atid3d.dll file is the best for Rage2 D3D, i have 2275, 2279,2280, 2281 versions @ v4.11?

I share here also my Rage2/Rage3 new beta driver, thats modded 4.11.2611 driver works@RageXLAGP.
Someone with Rage Mobility (Rage3 based) could also test it. Rage XL PCI i have less hopes, this driver
got R3DVD playback imported also from Ati2ddad and 2611 is compatible with Rage2 Direct3D / 3DCIF.
RageXL has 3DCIF/Direct3D/OpenGL/ATiDVD, maybe Brenders and ATi Video Player should also work.
3Dfx emulator added from XGL200 and some more, MPEG1 gamma @menu maybe, d3d 8bit pallete.
OpenGL 8bit palleted textures over D3D->OGL wrapper only, but that also should work if @D3D work.
Macxw4.inf has readme inside, this is not my ideal rage2/rage3 final driver, but its more closer there.
bat file shoul be executed after or before install even with or without 3dfx emulator. Thank you all!
Some testing and tips would be helpful, 90% sure that with more hexedit no need to downgrade R2.
5043 Macxdd32 needs atid3d.dll correcty input, i made just some name changes inside ati2ddad files.

I tried your beta driver with a Rage II+DVD, 4MB EDO, PCI.
The vertical refresh frequency defaulted out of range for my display, so I had to connect an old CRT to lower it.
It seems like all possible refresh rates are unlocked out of the gate and it just chose the highest.
Also Direct3D does not work.

The Win98 driver for the Rage II+ is faster than the last official driver by Ati by the way.

4.10.2420 or 4.11.2560 driver, maybe Rage2 and Rage2C are diffent somehow,
still they should be very similar i think. I dont have regular Rage2 0r Rage2+DVD now

NB! Default is Rage3 driver, you need to open dd32/5039 folder and copy macxdd32.dl_ to the main folder and execute ConfigSetup.exe to install it with older macxdd32.dl_, directx3d and 3dcif starts to work. You can test it with Tomb Raider (CIF version). Default macxdd32.dl_ is 5043 and that works Rage3 cards only. 3DCIF you can test with some added demos.

100% driver works i have used it with Rage2C and Tomb Raider (CIF) + Croc Legend of the Gobbos 1.0 (CIF) + CIF demos.

Your Quake3 benchmark with Rage3 and same driver Duron 650Mhz/128MB/W98SE DX6.1/cmi8738/viadma missingnow
3D Rage Pro 2x AGP 4MB EDO 54.1fps k6q3 patch / without patch 53.2 (1997 at board) 538x3D2611 driver @ OpenGL 1091
ATi Rage XL 2xAGP 8MB RAM 61.1fps k6q3 patch / without patch 57.7 (1999 at board) 538x3D2611 driver @ OpenGL 1091

Your driver is faster than "w82411en" but the Win98SE default driver is still faster:

3DMark99Max:
Win98SE driver - 522 3D Marks
Your driver - 512 3D Marks

Quake III:
Win98SE driver - 7,0 FPS
Your driver - 6,7 FPS

Also the texture quality is pretty bad with your driver.
Quake III with the TCD3D wrapper looks like 256 colors and all textures are somehow tilted counterclockwise by about 5°.

Did those drivers come from a Rage IIc?
I can at least tell you, that there usually was one driver for Rage II+, LT, 264VT3 and another driver for IIc, Rage Pro and XL.
I read somewhere that the IIc is closer to a Rage Pro than a Rage II.

Maybe having a look at the driver that came with Win98SE would lead to some improvements?

At the moment i dont rembember where it came but the version i am using here is v4.11.2279. Rage3 has its own atid3dr3 direct3d driver and rage2 has its own atid3d. I go with the older 4.11.2275 first and test Win98SEdriver also out. I have done more testing with the Rage3, if the Win98SE components are faster then i can use or import those maybe. Thanks!
