Hi everyone,
I’m trying to identify a game I played around 2003–2005 on Windows. I don’t remember the title, but here’s what I do remember:

It was an action-RPG game, possibly low-budget or obscure.
The game had third-person view
You start the game with no armor, only a katana as your weapon.
The world looked natural and realistic — green grass, forests, rivers, etc. It resembled a European countryside.
Enemies were human, not monsters.
After killing enemies, you could loot them and pick up armor, weapons, helmets, etc.
There was an inventory interface similar to Diablo — you could drag and drop items, equip gear, etc.
The UI colors were calm — green or blue, nothing cartoony.
There might have been a world map and some quests, but I’m not 100% sure.
The graphics were not cartoonish, quite serious in tone.

I believe it was released before 2005.

I've been trying to remember this game for a long time and haven’t had any luck. If anyone has any suggestions, I’d really appreciate it!
Thanks in advance!

Nox possibly, or one of the Gothic games.

Do you remember if it was "true 3d" or isometric?

Also maybe Wizards and Warriors? I seem to remember most of those enemies were human.

Thanks for the reply! Beautiful game, but not the one I’m looking for. I hadn’t even heard of it before — I’ll definitely give it a try!

Thanks for the reply! No, it's not Nox, Gothic, or Wizards and Warriors. The game had "real 3D", not isometric view. The camera was behind the character and followed their movements. It was somewhat similar to Morrowind or Vampire: The Masquerade.

Thanks for the reply! No, it's not "Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood." That one has an isometric view, but the game I'm looking for had a third-person perspective, with the camera behind the character.

Mistmare perhaps. Released in 2003, I seem to recall it had only humans as opponents.

Wikipedia also has pretty exhaustive lists of RPGs by year if you search. "wikipedia rpgs 2002" and whatnot.

Thank you, it's a very similar game, but not the one I'm looking for. I think the graphics and gameplay in mine were a bit simpler.

As for Wikipedia — that's a great idea, thanks! I will definitely give it a try.

Thanks for the reply! No, unfortunately it's not Nox. The camera was kind of behind the character, not isometric.

Thanks for the suggestions! Throne of Darkness looks interesting, but yeah — it’s isometric, so probably not the one. Severance is actually very close in style, but it’s not the game either. Still, great game — I might even replay it!

Sadly, not the one I'm looking for again. But thanks a lot — grabbed it for the collection, looks interesting!
