I would like to be more descriptive, so let me start with NFS.
I found interest in the NFS series since NFS3 HP. The racing, police, the variety of cars and maps got me interested. It seemed to me a bit different from NFS2 and earlier games which felt closer to each other. NFS4 came up and it was the best one, for a long time. The career mode, car damage, the different maps, terrains and fog brought in much more entertainment. Installing car mods was fun as well. NFS Hot Pursuit 2 was good as well, had a few left and right changes and was a decent enough game to enjoy. I skipped NFSU and NFSU2 and jumped to NFS Most Wanted and Carbon which was a large shift in arcade racing. Probably the best type of racing I played, with most of the previous elements in place, open world and a larger sense of achievement doing thing. NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 was again a return to the previous format so that was decent as well
But since then, no other racing game from NFS series did anything extra ordinary. Heat and Payback were more focused on carrying the story through racing, more like trying to finish a plot. NFS MW 2012 gave no sense of achievement, it was largely about collecting cars and just winning races to go on top of the board. Didn't give Rivals/The Run a try. Played Undercover but it felt underdeveloped.
The Driver series was decent but I have completed it. Burnout series was a blast, would definitely play the next game when (and if) it comes out
Although I play sim racers, but they don't entertain me as much. Yes there's an entire fanbase for perfecting this genre but I would take in something casual; compared to playing DiRT5, Project Cars 2, FH5 and Assetto Corsa Competizione. I have played F1 and Grand Prix as well but they are still very sim-styled
Certain games have gone too far with the lootbox route so I would feel always feel like missing to accomplish something. I am trying to find some game that matches my style of interest. I can go repeat a game again but I want to open my options of testing something new
