Is the site down? Malwarebytes put you on their block list and even with Malwarebytes turned off, the site doesn't load.

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

It loads with Chrome just fine, one version of FF on my other box loads but the bios, doc, etc tabbies don't show anything (think that FF just needs an upgrade or reset)

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Clear the browser cache, it fixed the issue for me.

Not sure if you guys monitor this thread anymore but tried your Discord invite on the site and it has expired - so can't join.

Was digging around on archive.org for some info on this board;

https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/tmc-my … -ti5tt-ver.-1.1

and found a slightly higher revision of the manual than the one hosted on your site.

I recommend everyone to see the excellent documentary on The Retro Web project from The Serial Port on YouTube!

https://youtu.be/sBxGtKmzOHA?si=fTYk93kSKUM3JZV1

Excellent work everyone involved!

Yeah, this is a very good and informative video about TRW project. I learned some very interesting new things about Micro House company that created a software catalog/library with information and manuals for thousands of (now obsolete) computer parts. And this software was a commercial product (not given for free), and as mentioned in the video, the Micro House software database has been pirated in the '9o (this includes the TH1999 site database, which subsequently was the basis for the creation of the original TRW project's database), but now considered as "abandonware". So, all the stories for such a pirated things once more rises the question about how ridiculous are all those copyrights for the long time abandoned commercial products.

A few thoughts on rules, laws, copyrights...

And of course, once again the issue of the forum's rules** comes up with which is allowed and disallowed here by the interpretations and variations of what is "abandonware" and why it's "not allowed here" (obviously with certain exceptions to the rules). It appears that any link to sites like TH1999, TRW etc. (with content from the Micro House's pirated database) is not a problem at all, but sometimes even mentioning the word "abandonware" is a huge problem.

And don't get me wrong, I find TRW and vogons forum and likes as very useful for a retro computer hobbyists. I just don't like all these double standards in the compliance and the enforcement of the rules, especially when the rules are not always respected by the creators of these very same rules 😁

So, what's "abandonware" nowadays? By my personal understandings, it's every piece of software or documentation for some obsolete product, which may still have a formal copyright owner according to the so called "commercial law" (an even more cunning form of the cunning "admiralty/maritime law"), but long time ago doesn't get any any support, updates etc. from the copyright owner and the copyright owner doesn't make any profit from selling the copyrighted obsoleted product for decades.

"3. Certain works which you cannot legally release under an open license may also be posted to VOGONS using the special “Fair use” license. These works must be:
a. Freeware, shareware, and other similar software where the copyright owner granted redistribution rights; or
b. Screenshots, videos, or audio recordings of small portions of copyrighted material for the purposes of education or research; or
c. Portions of copyrighted code or documentation for the purposes of education or research.

Works not meeting these criteria must not be submitted to VOGONS. In particular, “abandonware” is not allowed on VOGONS. Donate commercially unavailable copyrighted works of historical interest to the Internet Archive or to a local library or museum."

I hope I will be not punished for using the forbidden word "abandonware" here. The forum's automated moderation had taken away my right to edit my own posts, so I can't correct myself if some rules are broken by this comment.

To be precise TH99 hasn't been used to create the TRW project. That was the initial trigger, but for the end result the actual MH data has been reversed engineered and aggregated, because there was not one MH version, but many and they all contained a different subset of hardware, which eventually has been merged to one big data base.

As already I wrote, I have no problems with all these sites and projects like TRW, TH1999, stason, etc. and I don't care how they managed to initially partially or fully populated their databases by using some (now long time ago abandoned) software database. I'm using them regularly as they contain tons of very useful and systemized information about retro hardware. I even had a little contribution to TRW database before the forum's threads for TRW-info-submissions were closed. Let's be honest - there are hundreds (maybe even thousands) of images and manuals originated from MH software on these sites and sometimes there is no other option like scanned original user's manual.

But this is not where I'm pointing at 😉

That's what I've waited for! It was even late, but I'll chalk it up to some time difference 😉 Still waaay better than a moderating script! 🤣
