Hey there.

So I recently took a Gateway 2000 V1776 monitor into a TV repair shop to get it looked at for an issue with it not displaying the red channel.

The guy at the shop says that the problem comes down to the chip marked "FUN 3" and that he has no way of repairing it.

The attachment IMG_20250428_155913.jpg is no longer available

Is there a possibility of sourcing a replacement board or is it also possible that it could be another issue? (capacitors or something of the sort?) Pictures attached.

If we have any CRT specialists in here I'd love to get in touch.

I wouldn't call myself a CRT specialist, but this chip must be the RGB video preamplifier, probably an LM1203 or some similar RGB preamp. The actual RGB amplifier stage is made using high power BJTs and should be located on the CRT neck board. If red color amplifier is OK and the preamp chip is getting a good signal for red color, then this chip must be the culprit. I would guess that the service technician came to this conclusion exactly this way.

If a schematic can't be sourced for this monitor, your main option now would be to reverse engineer the circuit around this chip and compare it to the reference circuit of the LM1203 chip, perhaps it is the same thing. It is also possible that the chip's model is silkscreened underneath it.
