Can't find a download for the Mr-Bios file named V097C5UQ (Gigabyte 440FX Motherboard)
It is listed by the user jheronimus in his MR BIOS catalog link above - (google spreadsheet) under Intel chipsets.
However the The Dropbox link in the spreadsheet doesn't list it to download.

I'm not clear if all the files in the spreadsheet under 'Intel chipsets' are available or do they include missing files but known to exist?.

There's nothing under "versions found", so yeah, this is an image presumed to exist, but not found yet. In this case this version was listed on MR BIOS website, there seem to be two Triton images like that. I briefly checked the sources — this doesn't seem to be an omission on my side. Same story with V09BB5AK — listed by Microid, but not included in the Evergreen files or distributed as shareware.

I suggest you try an image with the same chipset and I/O chip combo, if you have an EPROM programer and the BIOS chip isn't soldered on the motherboard.

Microid listed the I/O chip as UMC 669, but that seems like a mistake on their website. Only 8669F exists as far as I can tell, and that one is supported by at least 13 images. Is the chip on your board labeled as 8669?

The chip onboard is UM8669F, the motherboard is a Gigabyte GA586ATM/P. I think Microid just listed 'UMC 669' as shorthand for UM8669F. I will try some of the other 430fx chipsets with the same I/O.

Hi, how do I got about submitting a Mr BIOS image please? I made a 128k bios image that works perfectly on a DEC Digital LPx 486DX2 motherboard.

The best place would be The Retro Web, you can join their Discord server https://discord.gg/HWWH7hsk2p

Or you can upload the BIOS here (simply attach it to a comment), I’ll submit it to TRW and my archive myself.

You can always post it here. 80486 BIOS image collection

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

Not sure if it's allowed to post eBay links, but there's a Gigabyte GA-486VS board currently on sale in the UK which has a SiS471 Mr. BIOS from 1997 (there are screenshots included in the listing):

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186770308139

If someone ends up buying this board, please dump the BIOS and share it in this thread!

I guess that who bought that board isn’t a Vogons user?

Sad to think that the SiS471 MR-BIOS keeps evading us after all these years 🙁

Please, please, please, pretty please!?

I've sent him a message in ebay to politely ask to dump the bios. I hope it isn't too much of a trouble for him.

I also guess that this went nowhere…

I asked the seller to dump the bios but they said that they have no means to store anything. (no super i/o card, no storage, no floppies, etc.) They promised to see, what they can do but never came back.
I then some time later contacted the seller again. They said they have forwarded the wish for the bios dump to the new owner but nothing has came after that.

At the price it was listed, whoever bought it has to have some interest in retro stuff... I don't see a scavenger paying those prices to use a working board as a donor or try to get gold out of it, but you never know with those people unfortunately.

Also, it's just a standard run of the mill motherboard, not specialized equipment that some company would use to replace a failed system.

So, to whoever bought that board: please, make that Mr. BIOS available to the rest of the world! 🙏 Otherwise the retro gods will lay an everlasting curse upon you! 😡

Has anyone seen MR BIOS for VLSI 201/202/203? I see there was a MR BIOS for the VLSI 300-series, but not 200.

Btw, I've come across two weird images for VIA chipsets, both come from Orange PC cards. One should be for VIA 496 (Pluto, a 486 chipset), the other is for VIA 580 (Apollo VP IIRC, a Socket 7 chipset). You can find both in the repo (in the VIA folder), please let me know if they work as I don't have motherboards with these chipsets.

Marked them with a disclaimer in my catalog, so only test them if you know how to restore a bricked motherboard.

Found this 103MB file of MR Bios files on an old warez CD-ROM. Quickly checked the previous threads, didn't see if this was shared before.

Can we open up a github page to commit and store everything there?

[edit]Checked the dropbox file, looks almost like the identical archive, never mind..[/edit]

Yeah, that looks like one of the older versions of my Dropbox repo. So the "old warez CD-ROM" part is amusing to me 😁

(just to be clear, I don't mind the mirrors at all, I actively encourage them)

I wasn't even joking around 😉 My zip file came from 'Twilight 4'

[edit]ok, maybe some other cd-rom 😉, I'll look it up..[/edit]
[edit2]ok, I'm definitely delusional, date codes from 2022 in zip, maybe it was you after all 😉..[/edit2]

Yeah, me too. If I knew earlier about that Gigabyte board on eBay UK, I would buy it just to dump the BIOS 😁
