I know, support for 7 has been dropped but it was working fine for me until a couple of days ago. After experiencing the well known system freezes upon launch, I discovered this workaround (on the bottom of the page):

It stopped freezing all together but all I get is a black window where Steam is supposed to show. Anyone else experiencing this? I tried downgrading to several versions, but all of them had this issue.
EDIT: After a fresh reinstall and using VXKex to fool it as it were on Win10, It finally opened up without freezing (probably due to 2 more windows opening up on the top of Steam's) and an error message poped up saying SteamWebHelper is not responding, also giving me 5 different choices (Restart Steam, without GPU accel, without sandbox, restart SteamWebHelper, just exit Steam). Which would the most assertive workaround?
