Well, I'm glad for it, because I had only the earlier release, and got stuck when my guide refused to move on after a long fight/run; a known bug for which the only recourse was to replay the ordeal from start (it autosaves) and hope the bug did not occur again.
This bug was claimed to be fixed in the Redux version.

Gog seems to throttle browser downloads a lot. If you use the client you can still download the offline installer and it's fast. Also you don't have to click on all the individual files, just one click.

I love getting free games. My definition of free games would be drm free games. I dont want to install a launcher so no Epic, No amazon, No legacy games? So GOG is ok, especially when they give away classics like Blood Omen. old enough to work on modern machines, new enough to be constantly updated and preserved through their preservation program...

The games from Amazon, the ones you download through the service itself are DRM free. They also sometimes distribute through gog legacy and epic though. If you have prime you should keep an eye for the amazon distributed downloads too.

Please keep your "controversy" to your own threads and not litter this one. You most likely have to pay for power and internet as well so by your logic games aren't free.
A site requires a logon to download, boo hoo. Cry me a river.
As for DRM requirements I maintain a seperate list on the vogonsorg offline games github which is in my sig and is updated when I get around to it.

Being petty because people will be turned off if they see free but then have to pay a subscription to get access to those games. I fell into that free trap where i had to sign up with my personal idenifiable information to get free stuff like signing up for credit cards to get free stuff.
Instead of its yours free just pay shipping/handling, take out the free part and say it's your just pay s/h and/or give us your data to subsidize the platform. That would weed out people who wanted free games free and clear.
DRM-free games like gog still require you sign up to get them so still need an asterisk I guess.
