I wish somebody could promote Mech 2 + expansions (the 1996 3DFX version of the base game and all the Titanium version in 3DFX) by uploading their latest ultra HD gameplay and setup tutorial in YouTube. Not many gamers especially young gamers know about the existence of a playable Mech 2 in modern system (modern hardware and latest OS) with 3DFX acceleration via the easy all in one Myne's installer here.

Also there should be a tutorial on how to "fix" the soundtrack for Titanium version to get the full and complete music tracks in ogg format running during gameplay. And lastly on how to setup control key mapping for keyboard, mouse and other controllers. I have successfully done the soundtrack and the key mapping part myself. And maybe I could share my files for key mapping and those soundtracks ripped in ogg format here.

I quite busy right now with my job requiring me to travel a lot. So I hope somebody could promo our effort here in social media so that many out there will enjoy the game and relive its glory. And if many people play Mech 2 3DFX, maybe next time somebody could try to revive the online multiplayer (Netmech and MerchNet) for 3DFX versions (Titanium and non-Titanium Mech 2 base game 3DFX)

I am not sure about the legal aptitude to share the soundtracks of the base games. Other than that, its just 1 setting in the ini.

Yeap... that's one thing to think of. And we should declare that the MEMORY LEAK problem so far has been resolved with the latest Myne's all in one installer. Because I saw one video in YouTube mentioned about the MEMORY LEAK when reviewing Myne's Installer (for Titanium Mech 2 3DFX) about 3 months ago.

those are stupidly easy to find on the internet and there is no reason to it to share here due to vogons *corporate rules*

Also there is the fact that dxwnd running redbook audio on pc with the wrapper option is once in a full moon, on which with MW2's case since there is no "way" to make the game patched and run without CD detection work, unless the exe is hacked, which is curious since Heavy Gear 1 is a game that runs without CD as i76 after patched out of box.

Is the following Okay?

To read the music from the local disc, open dxwnd.ini and change the value:

1flagt0=262148

to

1flagt0=262144

This allows the reading of custom music tracks, and also the actual CD tracks with lesser latency. You can also use this option to use the complete tracks of MechWarrior 2 Pentium Processor Edition in Titanium Edition

Officially, DxWnd supports playback of .ogg, .wav, .mp3 or .flac format files. Music tracks need to be installed in a folder named "Music" in the same level as the game executable. The music tracks should be named "track02.fmt", "track03.fmt", ..., "trackmn.fmt", where ".fmt" is the file extension and "mn" is the track number. The track should start with "track02.fmt" always, since the first track is the data track.

Hi, sorry 'bout this. just recently installed the 3Dfx version of said game using the guide and files provided but having a bit of problem if anyone mind me asking for help here. Its about the cockpit control configuration in 3Dfx version, right now I'm using mouse+keyboard since I don't have a joystick like everyone else, was hoping to use the custom Mech2 custom control file I got from this https://www.reddit.com/r/mechwarrior/comments … _esdf/?sort=new but only mouse look up and down don't work. It will show this window pop-up when I start a mission.

I tried looking inside INPUT.MAP with notepad++ searching editing anything possible to fix the issue but with no success so far. Thing is, I also have the DOS version of Mech2 installed so I know those custom control files worked flawlessly for DOS version but not with 3Dfx version even though those two files INPUT & GAMEKEY literally the same thing.

or maybe if someone could share your working mouse+keyboard INPUT & GAMEKEY file for the 3Dfx (win95 direct3D too if possible/ battlepack ver.) here that would be helpful much appreciate.

I'd open the default side-by-side with the other and see if they made changes to the format.

Yup. the default sure work alright. it just I couldn't customize to something like WASD nor ESDF.

the option on the left become grey if I want to put throttle up to E key, don't know why though..

E is enemy.
You probably have to move that first.

Since I'm already using the custom ESDF that's fine, only problem is the Up/Down input for Mouse didn't work with 3Dfx. If I try to set it up on control setting it revert to the default control as you can see in the pic I posted there. Oh and if you happen to look into 'mw2_controls.zip' I'm using the 1B option setup btw. I dm the author who made it yesterday but no luck.

Without looking too deep, one thing you've probably done that might cause issues is you used tabs where they used spaces, and spaces where they used tabs.

Tabs vs spaces is a holy war.
Clearly there were different developers on different parts.

Sorry I'm not quite sure what does that mean but using the custom ESDF control here,

TAB key for weaopn_cycle and SPACE key for activating JumpJets, does that conflicting somehow with input Mouse device for tilting Up & Down mech torso? Here my INPUT & GAMEKEY if you wanna take a lot.

The BIG button on your keyboard is called the SPACE BAR.
The one labelled TAB is the TAB key.

In the picture, the spaces are little orange dots and the tabs are long arrows.

To turn that on in notepad++ look for a weird backwards P
