Hello,
is there a tool for testing VRAM on ATI R100 and R200 cards? Something like MATS is for Nvidia.

I've found R3MEMID but, as the name implies, it requires a R300.

Thank you to anyone who can help.

You can use: "Video Memory stress Test CE" - https://sourceforge.net/projects/vmtce/

It runs fine on FreeDOS. I did unpack the zip, then the iso, then the img and put that on my FreeDOS machine. No issues whatsoever. You can of course also use the image directly.

In case you don't want to go through the hassle of unpacking it yourself, I attached the unpacked binaries.

The attachment VMTCE.zip is no longer available

It's not vendor specific, which is good and bad. It'll return you the memory addresses that have errors in a nice log format. Unlike R3MEMID (or R5MEMID) it does not tell you directly which IC is affected, so some knowledge of the cards is needed.

Just tested it with a Radeon 9100 and 9200SE - both worked just fine. I don't have anything R100 based laying around, but I'll assume it'll do fine.

Cheers

PS: Looking at the behavior of R3MEMID I suspect that the code for R200 might be in there as well, but I didn't bother so far of looking if I can modify it into working state.

Wow thank you.
I was asking as i'm planning on trying to convert some relatively useless 256MB 5ns RV280s to 128MB 3.6 or 4ns, which at least on paper should make them about equal to a 9000pro.
So the issues I may have are either a missing solder joint or a bridge which will be quite obvious during testing i'd guess.

Thankyou,
Andrea
