Hi there, hope I'm posting in the right place, I've tried to follow the posting guidelines but some of the information I don't know...I'm having a problem using DOSBox to run Theme Hospital, an old favourite of mine that I used to play long ago!
# Motherboard - don't know (how do I find out?)
# Processor type and speed - Intel Core 2 Duo
# Amount and type of RAM - 1024Mb DDR
# Video board w/ RAM amount and type - don't know
# Sound board - don't know
# Operating system - Windows Vista 32bit
# Game name - Theme Hospital
# Description of problem - Ok, I basically downloaded and installed DOSBox ok. But I'm having various problems:
i) I can't transfer the game I want to play to the folder in the C drive. It simply won't let me and says I need administrator permission - despite the fact I'm the only user of this computer
ii) When I try to mount the directory and type "mount C C:\Old Games" like the help bit tells me too, I get a message saying that Old Games doesn't exist. Despite the fact I just made the folder (although I can't yet put the game in it).
Am I making a simple error? The wiki entry for DOSProg did say that it ran on Vista both 32 and 64 bit. I haven't even got to the stage of trying to run the game yet!!
# Reproducibility of problem - keeps happening
# Version of emulator (for VDMSound, probably 2.0.4 or 2.1.0; for DOSBox, 0.58+) - I'm using DOSBox 0.72.
# Steps already attempted to solve the problem - explained above
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
EDIT: Ok I've now managed to get the game running, by using the software D-Fend Reloaded, the GUI really helped me to understand what was going on. However, the game's running really slow, is there any way I can speed it up?
