Hello all,

I had quite a lot of troubles installing this graphic card on my freshly installed Windows 95 OSR2.5. The card itself is not directly detected by Windows. (Detected as a generic vga card).
-If you install the drivers 623 from Matrox website the application will not detect any hardware related.
-If you install from the devices manager it will say the drivers are not made for the graphic card installed. (Only some older drivers from Matrox inc. are included).

You have to go to the control panel --> add new device (I am french and My win95 is also in french so the name may differ) --> add graphic card. Select the drivers installed from 623 on C:\Windows\temp (or any other directory you had chosen).
Then you can finally go to devices manager and select the driver Millenium G450 for your card. (Choose on the left list the other different Matrox manufacturer from Matrox inc.)

I hope this wil help people later. Sorry for my english.

Best regards,
Antoine.

Install the generic Windows driver and restart then retry installing the Matrox driver.

Maybe try another version of driver? Matrox G450 on Windows 95

I thought maybe the bridge chip on the pci version was causing problems but I didnt see that brought up by other G450 owners so probably not.

That was my favorite video card back around 1998 thru 2010
I used it with Win98, NT 4.0 and Win2000.
I used in My HP Kayak XU workstation with Dual Pentium-III@500mhz
And other HP computers I had too.

This card worked great with Dual Sony 20-inch CRT Monitors.
