RAPTOR: Call of the Shadows

-- In Windows XP could not be played with DosBox 0.72 but was running very well with VDMSound 2.1.

Tweaking different configurations didnt help.

No, didnt install it from within dosbox. I had a self-extracting file which i installed to the c: drive.

i mounted c: and executed the exe from within dosbox. The game crashed without showing the initial Apogee screen. I could not read the error messages as they are too faint to be read.

Thanks

Works fine here, so get the original and not some self-extracting whatnot.

Mine is original. I have upgraded it to version 1.2.

I could play raptor now since i edited dosbox.conf.

[cpu]

cycles=2500

But with full detail and sounds on, the game's a bit sluggish.

I have no idea of "cycles". What is the minimum and max or optimal.

How to optimize game play. Suggestions please.

Since i am playing Prince2 at the same time i have to consider that while editing dosbox.conf.

Thanks

Use a clean dosbox.conf, that is cycles=auto

With cycles=auto, i can play Prince2 but Raptor crashes after the opening screen.

Raptor should run fine at something like ~15000.
