Hi all, long time lurker on the forum, but I decided to make an account because I need some help getting POD Gold working.

I'm trying to play POD Gold (2.2.8.0) on my 98 rig (Pentium III 600, Voodoo3 3000). The installer detects my Voodoo3 just fine and the game runs great once you enable V-sync in the 3dfx control panel.

However, the car textures are all screwed up. They look like they've been misapplied to the models, the wheels of the cars look fine but the body and rims are this weird striped blue and yellow color.

I've tried a couple different 3dfx patches (21_3dfx and 3dfxff) and nothing seemed to help. Reinstalling the game made no change either.

I'm starting to think it's a driver issue of some kind with the Voodoo3? I'm using the latest reference drivers from 3dfx but if anyone knows a more compatible driver I'm all ears.

POD have different executables for different chips. I believe they stored in the installation CD.

This is the kind of graphical corruption I'm getting.

Does this issue only occur in this one game? Have you tried a different game like NFS2?

It's just POD that does this. NFS II and III play perfectly in Glide, as do GLQuake and Quake II. Like I said, I'm thinking some kind of weird driver incompatibility.

The latest "Voodoo Series" drivers are buggy for V3, so i'd probably suggest earlier 2000 drivers.

That was it, I installed the 1.04.00 driver package from Philscomputerlab and all my textures are fixed!
