Good Day, I have a QDI P5I430TX Titanium IB+ motherboard (Bios rev 1.2S) that I picked up a few months ago and am only now trying to actually do anything with it, I originally had the intent to use a 250gb SSD with a SATA to IDE adapter and install Win98, but I cant seem to get the controller to see the drive, so I used a couple of CF card adapters I had on hand, still not able to see anything (all known good working drives) finally I unearthed a few of my old IDE HDDs and though two I know don't work (click of death) 4 others seemed like they work yet still not being seen or detected by the controller, however there is a CD-ROM drive in the case that pops up every time with out issue, and I can even boot from a disc.
I have tried swapping cables and that did nothing, the BIOS still does not see anything, oddly HDDs it just did nothing, with the CF adapters and the SATA adapter it would sit trying to see something before just saying no drive present.
Any suggestions? I waiting on a Gotec to arrive before trying to update the BIOS as the CMOS chip is soldered to the board.
