Good evening, today I bring you a concern, an error that I have when I want to emulate Sound Blaster in Windows 3.11 (____NOT FOR WORKGROUP ___Standard WIN/S Mode, with the HDPMI16L extender, and VSBHDA16, and simply when I restart the machine, Windows warns me that it does not detect any port 220 related to the Sound Blaster.
I had already reported this error in another thread, but I bring it here again, to find a solution.

It works!!!! Yes!!!! I replaced Windows Dosx.exe with HXRT Binary, then ran Start16L.Bat and IT WORKED! Thank you all, may God bless you.

By the way, I installed Winplay 3, and "Eiffel 65 -Move your body" plays in the background hehehe

Congrats! 😀

EDIT: However, it should be mentioned that this works with the MS supplied drivers only (sndblst2.drv and msadlib.drv) - the Creative drivers won't work currently. There's an "interrupt verification" loop in the MS drivers that runs too fast on "newer" machines - one has to add setting "VerifyInt=0" in system.ini, section [sndblst.drv].

Finally, it has turned out that vsbhda v1.5 has a problem with the emulated SB's EOI detection, causing a "freeze" if so-called "specific" EOIs are used - as it is the case in Win31. This will be fixed in v1.6 - there's a preliminary version available at https://github.com/Baron-von-Riedesel/VSBHDA/ … leases/tag/v1.6. It also contains a few tools to enable 1) a (faked) Enhanced mode and 2) a (faked) SHARE.

EDIT: the Creative SB16 drivers should be accepted now

Did this thread used to have more comments, in it? Maybe it got split? Or did the other commenters delete their posts?

Good evening, and thank you for following this post... Well, actually this thread is the continuation and "solution" of a problem I had with DOS and Windows 3.11, since as you know, my goal was to be able to work with Windows 3.1x in enhanced mode, with multimedia and some extra additions (Win32s).
Unfortunately I couldn't get the HDA driver for Windows to work , but Mr. Baron-Von-Riedesel told me about how to emulate Soundblaster in Windows 3.x using VsbHDA 1.6 (In standard mode WIN/S), and it works very well!
