Thank you, I will report more later. For now all the Pentium II Xeon + Pentium III Xeon 1024 have been changed to 2MB when I expect they should be 1MB.

All of as follows

After adjusting the SIV parsing code I noted:

  1. Smitfield is a typo, it should be Smithfield
  2. Dual Core Xeon LV/ULV is missing Sossaman
  3. Dual Core Xeon 3000 is missing Conroe
  4. 64 Bit Xeon MP is missing Potomac
  5. The L2 cache size of 1MB is missing from Potomac
  6. 6MB(2x3MB) is still there, this is incorrect for Intel Core 2 Duo 6M
  7. As there are only 9 no cache size I got SIV to list them
  8. I noticed a few CPUID corrected, I look forward to some more and several CACHE corrected
Here is the full report

Thank you, I will report more later. For now all the Pentium II Xeon + Pentium III Xeon 1024 have been changed to 2MB when I expect they should be 1MB.

The (2MB) issued were my fault, sloppy query - is fixed.
Your 'should be' stats puzzle me, I do not see the difference(s):

Look above and below, to me it's clear the the CPUID and Speed are interposed.

Yes, I just picked that up and fixed it this morning - I thought you were relating to the CPUID/stepping issue you mentioned earlier. Latest version:

The attachment SIV03-6.txt is no longer available

For me this is near to the end of the fun. This covers some 40 specification updates out of the 100 for which I know the document numbers but that section does not appeal to me much.

Thank you for the latest file and it's close to the end for me too. I wish to add the Core-X + Socket 2066 CPUs and then will call it a day for now.

The file is pretty close, the issues I spotted are:

  1. I feel SL4D3 + SL4D4 + SL4D5 should be flagged as typos
  2. SLAWF + SLAWZ + SLAX2 reverted from CPUID 010677 to 10676.
  3. SLACP is CPUID 0006FB not 10676, it most be as it stepping G0
  4. SL9S3 had a 1MB cache, see https://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/SL/SL9S3.html.
  5. There are still 3 with no cache size.
  6. Why is there "64 Bit Xeon MP" and "64-bit Xeon MP", what is different about them?
  7. Core 2 Duo is missing Conroe
  8. Core 2 Duo is missing Wolfdale
  9. Xeon Processor 3300 is missing Yorkfield
  10. Dual-Core Xeon 7100 is missing Tulsa
  11. SIV has 120 that are not in your file.

Thanks for the heads up. Two things:
[7. Core 2 Duo is missing Conroe /8. Core 2 Duo is missing Wolfdale]
Which is which ?
And re: There are still 3 with no cache size.
Reading this essay below, I think we may have serious doubt that these chips ever hit the market or can be found in the wild. It may be ok to include them in SIV as anecdote but I do not see a point in having them in my own overview.

Core 2 Duo CPUID 06Fn is Conroe

The other is Wolfdale (CPUID 1067n)

I guess you mean SLAMX and if so see https://www.ebay.com/itm/131315036101, but the CPU image is not a SLAMX. I just changed SIV to 2 x 3M.

No, sorry, don't have one - I had it just listed in my notes as being with TP6-e TAG.

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

Yes, it is further cleaned and more cpu's were added - and possibly more issues. I hope the format is ok for you.
I removed some 30 'problem' cases and put them in a separate garbage file.

Another anomaly popped up: SL3BW in two different categories.

Thank you and yes, lots of new issues and still some of the old ones. The main issues are:

  1. All Clovertown have 2 x L2 Cache
  2. All Wolfdale have 1 x L2 cache
  3. All Tigerton have 2 x L2 Cache
  4. All Dunnington have L3 cache
  5. All Yonah [D0] are CPUID 06EC
  6. My SLAWF is CPUID 010677
  7. Such as Westmere-1 are down to GHz being wonky
  8. Westmere CPUID 206C21 are wonky
  9. Westmere need n x 256 for L2 cache
  10. I think several CPUID are incorrect

Once these are addressed I will check further.

The Westmere formats come from the Intel specsheet - see attached. More later.

Thank you for the .PDF and yes, they come it which is what I expected, but I am confused, why are you saying this?

This is the public specsheet which is incomplete. Consider:

8. This is an Intel® Xeon Processor X5650.

Clearly there are 6 x 256KB L2 cache and the public datasheet fails to specify this, look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_I ... erformance and it has:

Xeon X5650 SLBV3 (B1) 2.67 GHz 2/2/2/2/3/3 6 6 × 256 KB 12 MB 2 × 6.4 GT/s QPI 20× 3 × DDR3-1333 0.75–1.35 V 95 WLGA 1366 March 16, 2010 AT80614004320 ADBX80614 X5650 $996

etc...

there is a mix of "" + "Gz" + "GHz", why?
SLBV3 B-1 0x000206C2 2.66Gz why Gz
SLBWY B-1 0x000206C21h 2GHz/1333MHz but 0x000206C21h is not in the PDF
etc..

From the beginning I made clear that what I send you comes directly from those public sheets and I have not come to the point at which I am going to check all the individual entries against listings in Wiki or CPUW - I may one day but for the time being it is what it is.

Before I can change the format from plain text to tab delimited the content has to be prepared via partially manual editing and during that editing I can and do obviously introduce my own faults. Some of the pdf files behave oddly and when the content is copy-pasted into a text file the content ends up in a long line from top to bottom at the left side which takes a lof of mouse/keyboard work to get it right - and then sometimes shit happens.
The GHz and MHz were added into the database via global queries and I made a couple of mistakes which had to edited manually - this Gz one was overlooked. I try to keep my own influence at a minimum but some mistakes are to be expected.

I know all of this and I did all the checking for you. Do you wish me not to do this?

When the Intel S-Specs are incorrect do you wish to have incorrect information in your data?

When the Intel S-Specs have incomplete information do you wish your data to also be incomplete?

I could easily get SIV to quietly and correctly parse this malformed data, but assumed you would wish me to me make you aware of it. Do you?

Ok, got it. My mistake is/was to put too much value on the content & formats of the spec sheets. What is the right format for those double and triple cache values ?

OK, there is no right and wrong format, the format you use is different to the SIV format and I have code to deal with this some of which is:

        if( ( tcseql( twl, TEXT( "1MBx2/4MB L3"         ) ) ) ||                //
( tcseql( twl, TEXT( "1MBx2/8MB L3" ) ) ) ) //
stprintf( ccl->ccc, TEXT( "%.1s x 1M + %.2s" ), twl + 4, twl + 6 ); //
else //
if( ( tcseql( twl, TEXT( "1MBx2/12MB L3" ) ) ) || //
( tcseql( twl, TEXT( "1MBx2/16MB L3" ) ) ) ) //
stprintf( ccl->ccc, TEXT( "%.1s x 1M + %.3s" ), twl + 4, twl + 6 ); //
else //

If you have say 256KBx<n>/<n>MB L3 then I will add code to deal with this.

The SIV form is <n> x 256K + <n>M and if you used that I would not have to add any code.

More cleaning. The extra zero's in front of some of the CPUID's are not necessary I guess ? And what can go from the speed format of Westmere ? The Intel specification update sheet with the Westmeres is flawed, I reworked it with WIKI info.

The attachment SIV12-6.txt is no longer available

Yes, and thank you, this one has way less issues.

You did not answer this, below is with the GHz check there in case you wish to fix your data. Should I check GHz?

file.php?id=221517

Without the GHz check I get as below and feel:

  1. SLACQS is a typo and should be SLACS
  2. CPUID 010676 is stepping [C0]
  3. CPUID 01067A is stepping [E0]
  4. Stepping [C1] is CPUID 010677
  5. Stepping [E0] is CPUID 01067A
  6. SIV has 122 S-Specs that you could add
