Please have a look at the this doc [1]. Once a series of image files have been passed to the imgmount command, the CTRL-F4 key combination will allow cycling between the images.

Sadly after all these years multiple floppy images aren't supported in the officially released version, only cd images. You need an SVN version or some fork for that.

Is there a workaround to this, other than copying the content of floppy images together and hoping an installer does not rely on the disk labels to identify the disks ?

You're very correct about not all installers understanding merging all files into one directory. Not to mention cases where the same filename with different contents exists in multiple disks.
I keep a random SVN version handy just to be able to pass the switching floppies part, then back to the released version.

That's a good workaround. I tend to keep a few forks installed anyway, including an SVN build.
