I have installed Win98SE for data transfer to Pentium MMX system. It had been working on the network, seeing both my debian based server as well as my modern windows system(SMBv1 is turned on). It was slow, but to be expected of a pentium on 66mhz bus. It has stopped seeing the network now out of the blue. It came back after a restart briefly, but has not seen them since. I have installed offical and unofficial updates in attempt to get it working, to no avail. It does see and ping the server at it's IP correctly, so it's not a IP issue.
It running on a gigabit pci card(yeah, not getting on 66mhz bus system, but had 98SE drivers)
Shouldn't be relavent The main OS for the system is Win95, I am using Plop boot manger to switch to 98se for data.
Any ideas on how to proceed with troubleshooting this issue?
Is it a 98 issue or is it more likely something on the network(switch, router) has decided on it's own to block discovery?
