bonk

Just wanted to add to this

I'm running PC 1512 machine on PCem 17 and encountered same problem, even using DTC driver.

The problem is that machine has two hard drives (C: and D:) and DOS Plus tries to boot from D:

Of course it fails because that drive is not bootable. Problem goes away if I disable drive D: It then boots from C: as expected.

Does anyone know how to force DOS Plus to always boot from drive C: ?

Is this too much voodoo?

Do you ever boot anything else off drive D? Thinking it might be confused if the partition on D has the active flag (Unecessarily?).

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

D is data disk partition and is not active

If I switch the disks around, so the boot disk is D: and the data disk is C: --now DOS Plus boots -- but of course everything is broken because the file links (PATH etc) all point to drive C:

ETA: Aha, no drive D: IS active. OK I've forgotten how to remove the active flag. I remember doing this with a hex editor a long time ago....

ETA2: Fixed it! I used the Norton Utility (NU.EXE) to set the appropriate byte from 80h to 00h. Now DOS Plus is working with both drives. Thanks for the help!
