Hello Forum People!
I got myself a new toy.
Recently I stumbled across a full in box set of StereoGraphics CrystalEyes 3 active 3D shutter glasses with all the paperwork and a EPC2 sync-doubler dongle.
The system worked out of the box with duke nukem 3d on windows 98 dos mode.
However there appears to be a catch:
I cannot set the refresh rate for duke nukem. It appears to be fixed and the sync doubler doubles the 70Hz to 140Hz which makes my CRT go haywire.
The image for the left and right eye appears to be offset by like one or two inches.
Anybody on this forum who has some experience with these?
And also I wonder if I could use those on my Sun Ultra 2 Creator 3d or an SGI Indigo 2 which I'm about to get soon.
Apparently those used to be the best active 3d glasses at the time, but there is surprisingly little info on them.
Also duke nukem appears to be the only game (from like before the 2000s era) that has active 3d shutter glasses support?
I can barely imagine that when I look in all those magazines from that time and seeing all the hype with stereoscopic 3d games...
Have a great weekend!
