Hi folks,

i noticed a couple days ago something really awesome. A guy named Pekka Leppaluoto made a hack/patch to have the Yamaha FB-01 play good music on Ultima 6. It is basically about hacking the MIDI.DAT file.

You can read more details in the video description. The link to the patch is also there. I already tried it in my DOS PC with a real FB-01 and AMAME FB-01 emulation. Works and sounds absolutely great!!

It is somewhat similar to what Cloudschatze did for Atari ST and Apple II versions of Ultima III and V respectively.

No, i don't think so. Ultima 6 works over the MPU-401 midi, but the IMFC has its own MIDI section. I think SoftIMFC allows MIDI data meant to the IMFC to go through MPU-401 and otherwise play on a FB-01, but the opposite does not exist.
