Hi folks,

I'd like to ask if any of you could help in finding an appropriate cable for this setup.
Currently, on a P166 MMX, I got a S3 Virge and a Creative Voodoo2 12mb, the S3 virge as 2 x VGA ports (1M and 1F), therefore I'm connecting the voodoo2 cable from the Male port on the S3 to the Female port on the on the Voodoo2, and the VGA monitor cable from the Female port of the S3 to the monitor itself.

I'm planning to replace the S3 with maybe a Matrox Millennium, the latter has 1 x female VGA port, as well as my Voodoo2 has only 1 x vga female port.
All splitter cables come with 1 x male port to connect directly to the Voodoo2, and 2 x female outputs, leaving me no space for plugging the attached Voodoo2 cable, which would be left with a female port hanging there.

Do any of you have experience with similar setups or can point me out to a cable that fits the use case would be MUCH appreciated! 😀

Any vga cable with the right plugs works.
Longer, but whatever.

as you already attached a screenshot of the exact cable you need i'm not sure what the question is.

it may be worth pointing out that your prior setup was rather non-standard, having an input like that on the primary VGA card was a rare thing. so you're just trying to get a regular setup now with the pictured passthrough cable, and certainly aren't supposed to use splitter cables with 2 outputs. maybe the confusion is that you didn't know every voodoo1/2 card has an input for passthrough as well?

Well the thing is that if I use that cable in the picture, from the 2D card to the Voodoo2, I have no ports left for plugging the monitor 😀
Each graphics card will have 1 x VGA female port only.

you're supposed to plug the monitor into the voodoo card, which passes through the image from the primary VGA card and switches to the voodoo output when playing a 3d game.

But shouldn't the Voodoo2 be directly connected to the 2D card as well?
As in the screenshot, that would leave no physical ports available, that's why I thought about a splitter as a potential solution.

The S3 will be replaced by another card, with only 1 x vga female port.

not sure what is going on here. if you look up images of a creative voodoo2 it has the standard two connectors. did you mislabel the cards in that image?

2d > cable > voodoo >cable > monitor

Any standard vga cable works if it has the right gender.
