Hello

I got a PCChips M560 v3.1 motherboard needing repair.
https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/pcchips-m560-v3.x

I just noticed the oscillating crystal has been cut off the board.

This is the best closeup of the crystal I could get from a picture of the motherboard I found on ebay. Any idea what this crystal is so I can get a new one?

Thank you in advance for your help,
SDW

It looks like a RTC 32.768 kHz crystal.

Trace where it goes.
I will assume that you will end up at a chipset.
Find datasheet for chipset.

If you can't find the exact one, it's a fair bet that the equivalent Intel chipset is, if not pin compatible, then at least has the same oscillator requirements.

Pro tip: if it's relatively mundane, Intel probably either explicitly, or defacto set the standard, and market followers copied it to reduce hurdles for board makers to adopt their alternatives.

I built:

That has to be the RTC 32.768kHz crystal, close the the CMOS battery, and the right style too
