Nice to See that there are Others Out there who also like Matrox 😀

Like is an understatement - any old PC I store or use has to be equipped with a Matrox card(Mystique or MilleniumII)... feels like something missing without it.
There's one caveat though... no default 320x200 VESA mode on the cards mentioned.

Sounds like a loyal Matrox fan 😀

I just bought a G250 with Memory Expansion Module specifically made for the G250 (6ns SGRAM) . I hope with this one it won't downclock like with the use of a Regular G200 Memory Expansion shown here: https://b31f.wordpress.com/2017/02/16/memory- … nce-goes-there/

I never checked, but the MGA-1064SG Developer Specification actually says:

■ VESA 2.0-compliant DOS applications running at a resolution of 320 x 200 can be scaled up to
640 x 480.
• Higher resolutions are possible without changing the frame rate.
• Filtering in the X-direction is supported.

I Just recieved the G250 plus the 8MB G250 specific memory expansion (6ns 166Mhz SGRAM Samsung) and with it installed it also downclocks to 90/120Mhz but I can "overclock" it at least to stock G250 speed without Errors (in contrast to the Guy on my Last link) and I get a nice 3Dmark 2000 Score.
109/146 is Maximum without errors. 1Mhz more and it crashes to Desktop.

Nice. I have a G200 SGRAM AGP that also Works with the official Memory Module without Need for downclocking. Ansitzes, my driver does not Even try to detect Module settings and clock down. Instead it better works when it makes it past the initial Test. Still, I have one non-Original sdram Expansion that works so Bad, it fails in the Test at normal clocks

Yes, the regular G200 doesn't downclock with the memory expansion installed, because of its lower default clocks. It seems that G250 was clocked near the limit and so they probably decided to downclock it with the memory expansion installed.... But as you can see, at least my card even works slightly overclocked with the expansion. I will overclock it soon without the expansion to see if it gets over 109/146.

Here are the results for G250 without memory Expansion. 116/155Mhz. 3dmark Score is still lower than with 16MB and lower clocks.
Also attached some Photos of the Card. As you can See, the G250 memory Expansion only has two SGRAM Modules where as the G200 one has four of them. GPU heatsinks are attached by me for some extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeme (©Linus) Overclocking.
