Anyone with an x64 with an agp port feel like testing something?
Win10 2016 removed agp support.
As we all know, that should simply mean the drivers were removed from the iso.
So what I did was grab the drivers from 1507,rename one inf file to avoid overwriting and edit the other to match.
Theoretically, that should be all that's needed for 10 and 11 to re-add agp support. It also seems to have several references to Isa, so that may do something.
Details/method:
1 agp.inf points to several sys files and machine.inf
2 grabed those
3 renamed machine.inf to legacymachine.inf
4 edited agp.inf references to machine.inf
5 zipped
To test, 2 options.
1 Slipstream into iso
2 install fresh w10/11 and use device manager to update whatever the agp port shows up as.
In theory, everything that used to work should work again. I doubt Ms made any deeper architectural changes.
Agp is just an extended pci port, and pcie is a pci port with a serial layer 1. So it's hard to imagine removing support went too deep.
