Hi All!
So, in the past, there was an amazing website by @watlers_world (turkeys4me.byethost4.com) where a host of Windows 3.1 drivers were posted for ES1371, Intel HDA, AC'97, and other various soundcards that were released way after the Windows 3.1 era had come and gone.
Unfortunately, that site went offline sometime in the past year, and although the site is accessible in the Wayback machine at https://web.archive.org/web/20240620120312/ht … .byethost4.com/, the driver links aren't.
I'm in hunt of some drivers to work with the Intel ICH4 chipset on a Dell Inspiron 700m laptop that I picked up recently. So, a few questions
- Does anyone know Watler or has heard from him recently?
- Or does anyone have a copy of Ac97drvB.zip laying around that they could attach here (I'm thinking it MIGHT just work, if not, I might modify it to work)?
I did fortunately find drivers in another forum, and a friend of mine uploaded them to archive.org. But the post we scraped was from 2019, so newer drivers (and revisions of drivers) are missing: https://web.archive.org/web/20240924112823/ht … s/index.htm?i=2
If ANYONE happened to scrape the entire site at some point, please do reach out as well. It would be amazing to get a copy of all of these great drivers archived somewhere.
