The Chipset is just slow, i also have a Board with those VIA Chips on it.

The memory controller in those VIA boards is really slow. Updating the BIOS and enabling function - Combine Alter & Tag Bits - helped to speed it up. On the old BIOS version, it didn't do anything. However, the performance is still lower compare to SIS 496/7 board.
