Hello , i need help, iam using the newest DosBox Version.
On my Pc i use the xbox360 controller with the newest ms update.
Well but i get problems with that controller using with DosBox
When i start Privateer or Wing Comannder for example , the Curso is just moving to a corner i can do what i want , even to calibrating is useless.

Can anybody help me to use the xbox 360 controller with Dos Box and the games like Wing commander and Privateer?

DOSBox supports joysticks and gamepads. Note the "joystick" section in the configuration file. However, nothing as complex as an X360 controller was around during the glory days of DOS, and thus it may not work at all, or it may require a configuration change to the joystick section.

Farang: you don't need any special driver or helper program (XPadder is a great piece of software, but for a different purpose). You're probably seeing "drifting" of the joystick. First, calibrate your joystick within the DOS game you're playing. For some games, you have to use a special key combination to get to the calibration function. If you're still having problems, change the "timed" value in dosbox.conf. Another thing to try is to set the "cycles" to a fixed value (the default is "auto").

Farang, that XPadder won't bother your driver, but you do not need it. You first need to configure the type of joystick you want DOSBox to emulate in the configuration file as I stated before. After that if it gives you trouble, you can try setting the timing to false. If it still gives you trouble, post a detailed report of your steps. Also, if you have not calibrated the controller in Windows, you may want to do that. After that you will need to calibrate it in your game again in case anything changed.

The XBox 360 controller is a digital joystick, which means it doesn't need to be calibrated in Windows. I've been using both a XBox and a XBox 360 controller for quite some time now, on multiple systems, and i never had to calibrate in Windows.

Sorry, but I don`t don`t bother to study switches in DosBox that I don`t need. Sorry if I offended someone, I did not intend to do that

Why do you post wrong information then if you don't know?

Same thing here.
