I have an OPL3 sound card and I see some topics about OPL2 and OPL3 games. I have Fuzzy's world of minature space golf. This game has a great sound track. But when I start the game I don't have any sound. This game supports only soundblasters. You can change DMA settings using the fuzzy /? command. How can this game not work on an Adlib soundcard while this has an OPl2 soundtrack? Are there specific games which uses OPL2 or OPL3 but needs a soundblaster instead of Adlib? Can somebody explain this? I can image this game is from 1995 and Adlib was not a big thing anymore.

Adlib has OPL at address 388h.
SB has OPL at 388h and 2xxh.

So it's perfectly possible for a piece of software to use the OPL via 2xxh, which won't work on Adlib.
I would expect the software from Creative to behave like that, but can't rule out that some third-party games do that as well.
