Hello. I recently came across a Korg NS5R sound module.
I've been searching for information and read that you can insert an internal sound card, but you have to be careful because the power supply is very short and can burn out.

I haven't found much information on this last point. Can anyone tell me more, or point me in the right direction for more information?

Does anyone know which internal cards are compatible with the device?

Thanks in advanced

It's a standard waveblaster connector. Most waveblaster type daughterboards are fine. Modern ones from serdaco will be fine. But, these days a serdaco chill host is probably the way to go.

CM-64, CM-500, SC-55MkII, SC-88 Pro, SY22, TG100, MU2000EX, PLG100-SG, PLG150-DR, PLG150-AN, SG01k, NS5R, GZ-50M, SN-U110-07, SN-U110-10, Pocket Studio 5, DreamBlaster S2, X2, McFly, E-Wave, QWave, CrystalBlaster C2, Yucatan FX, BeepBlaster, SuperOctet!

I've tested a number of waveblaster cards with my NS5R unit. All of them (around a dozen total) including a NEC XR385 have worked without issue. Only thing I'd be wary about using would be something with a higher-than-normal power draw like the Serdaco WP32 McCake.

Hi. Thanks for your answers.

I'm thinking something like a X2GS SE

Yup can confirm, X2GS SE works flawlessly with it.
