Hello ,

When im using statistic server its show colorfull line on left side with width about 50-100 pixels . It happen on quadro fx 4500@ GTX 7800 and gtx 7900 aswell . I was trying diffirent drivers aswell as diffirent versions of msi afterburner . Its not present on radeon 6850 on a same system. My system core2duo E8500 ,Tpower i45 mobo and 4gb ram.
Also i was trying to use diffirent settings in msi afterburner but nothing work. Id really like to use this program as it show temps of gpu and cpu so i can keep my eye and prevent it from overheating. Here is pics. Any advice would be much appreciated .

DOS: 166mmx/16mb/Y719/S3virge
DOS/95: PII333/128mb/AWE64/TNT2M64
Win98: P3 900/256mb/SB live/3dfx V3
Win Me: Athlon 1333/256mb/Audigy2/Geforce 2 GTS
Win XP: E8500/4096mb/SB X-fi/Quadro fx 4500

Strange, i've had no such issue with afterburner on my system with 7600GT and different drivers. But it can not monitor much (no temperature) on drivers i ended up using for compatibility/performance reasons (175.19), and it eats a lot of memory, like 600-800MB, which is very significant for XP system and very compelling reason to not use it.

Rivatuner + RTSS may be a better choice here - it is basically a precursor of afterburner, does the same things if not more and is much more old system friendly...

Its not big deal for me as i have 4GB ram.

I belive there is something wrong with overlay . I noticed that higher fps result more frequently color flickering . Also i was trying forceware 94.xx to 305.xx with same issue.

Did you try older versions of AB? I used Afterburner + RTSS on GF7 in the past and there were no issues.

I checked and i am using afterburner version 4.6.4, driver 175.19, 32 bit XP. I've observed no issues apart from limited monitoring and high memory usage.

Perhaps there is a conflict with some other software you are running in the background?

Also as i said - RivaTuner 2.24 works better - it is much lighter and can actually monitor temperature with this driver/card, unlike afterburner. And since it uses the same RTSS - there is really no difference for the purpose of having OSD with monitoring apart from different UI for configuration.

Use MSI afterburner 4.3.0, an old version, and you should not have this problem. I use it on all my systems, including socket A with no SSE - T-bird - and it works without any issues.

that amount of memory usage isn't normal at all, i'd first of all make sure that the log file generation is turned off. though it's a moot point if it dropped support for older hardware.

Go to RTSS -> Setup -> FCAT Properties -> Enable frame color indicator

You also can use HWinfo to show statistics, it has integration for RTSS.

I've since noticed it happens on modern systems too, but on modern hardware this amount of RAM is not as easy to notice, so i never noticed it. And yeah, no logging.

Probably need to use lower version but yeah, ultimately just ended up using RivaTuner instead of trying to figure out which afterburner version would work.

Alright folks , after some trial and error i found that this issue start happend since version 4 and upwards . Version 4.0.1 those lines black&white version 4.2.x color lines.

@The Serpent Rider will try that when get back to geforces as i moved back to HD6850 as there is no such issue plus image quality noticeable better .
