Hello all,

This may be a combo that just won't work but I found a Pentium 4 HT 3ghz northwood in my attic.
Put it in my Asus p4g8x on latest bios 1007 with a Win 98 SE installation.

It sees "two" cpu's (threads obviously) at post of 1500mhz each.
Of course Win98 can't utilise hyper threading but I saw a thread on here of someone using the the exact same cpu (also socket 478) on Win98 running at 3ghz, but mine is at 1500hz.

Am I missing something or is there a different 3ghz Pentium 4 northwood that has no HT.

Thanks in advance.

Version 1007.002 is a beta, have you tried the previous versions?

Assuming it's an unsupported 800MHz chip (15 x 200) defaulting to 15 x 100. More than x 100 or x 133 auto on this board is a manual OC, and likely won't support a setting anywhere near x 200
