I recently got one of these pretty cheap and did a little digging to see what i could find out about it, it's a korean midi module that seems well made, the sound engine uses PCM and DVA (dual voice architecture) and it has a 6 megabyte PCM rom, 24 note polyphony, 4 reverb settings and 7 effects (rotary.., chorus, flange, distortion, echo..) and from what i could gather, it's a rack version of the goldstar gs-1000 keyboard from the early 90's, sold mostly overseas. it's all pretty generic and sounds like nothing special. However, it has a custom bank of sounds, bank 128, that are more or less similar to their GM counterpart but sound wildly different. i did some experimentation by modifying some midi game music to use bank 128 vice bank 0 and the results were amusing. if anyone is interested, maybe i can record a track or two using these new sounds and upload it here or elsewhere.
