Earlier this week, MS Teams broke on work laptop, said it should be updated. I found the new MSIX from Microsoft, but attempt to install it with Add-AppXProvisioinedPackage from PowerShell, it just output something about the request not being supported. Well, they probably dumped all except latest and (not so) greatest Windows.

I have version Win10 1809, haven't updated it in couple of years now (because who knows when an update will break something). I don't suppose anyone knows any hacks to get it working? I hate to have this thing in a web browser.

I forgot about the -SkipLicense parameter and the post below:

We'll see if it's still enough.

I've been using it in Firefox on Windows 7. It won't work in Edge - something about a stack problem.

The app never worked on my up-to-date Windows 10 - it freezes.

I am forced to use Teams at work too, I use the o365 hosted version online - via Chrome on Linux. Seems to work fine these days; I never really gelled with the "app" version.

The stupid thing can freeze up on Windows 11 too.

Actually, I didn't forget about -SkipLicense parameter. It's the end of the line. Guess I'll settle for using it in a web browser for now. Sigh.
