DFI NF4 Ultra-D north bridge fan replacement help please (w/ pics)

My DFI board has a seized up fan. It seems to be ok without a fan but can get quite hot after a bit of use.

I've tried multiple ebay and ALi options but they are not quite the right fit. They are either too tall or incompatible with hole spacing. Many older forum threads on this topic, back in the late -00s, suggest the discontinued Evercool VC-RE as it supports the oddbod 53mm hole spacing required to work properly.

I have installed an ALI Express from here using the mid sized 35mm fan which supports 43-59mm.

It doesn't quite work. Are there better options out there? The height of this ALI cooler is slightly too tall and relegates the VGA card to the bottom slot. I was hoping there would be options out there but I cannot find any.

The fan in the image is a 'number 8', also ALI, but is 55mm. It would have been perfect for the job. I also tried a 'VIO', nearly identical to number 8 but it has the same dimensions. I also tried a Vantec Aeroflow. But again. 55mm.

The original fan is 37mm with 31 x 31 x 29mm hole pitch which is hard to find. https://www.electromyne.de/public/catalog_xml … ctid=1031569709
the closest match I can find is this one with 32mm hole pitch: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004796515613.htm
you need to drill new holes in the fan legs.

Also this cooler you have can easily be adjusted:

The attachment 20250830_131629.jpg is no longer available

you need to run a 3mm drill bit through each cooler's hole and remove 1mm of material from inner side of each hole, so you get a oval hole that can fit on 53mm hole spacing.

Alright thankyou. I'll attempt to slot the holes a bit. It is a light metal so should be easy enough.
